Veteran TV Actress Sudha Shivpuri Breathes Her Last at 77

sudha shivpuriNew Delhi, Wednesday, May 20 – People woke up to a shocking information on Wednesday about the demise of Sudha Shivpuri – the veteran actress of the small screen. The actress passed away peacefully early morning today.

The 77-year-old actress rose to fame and became a household name for her fictional character as “Baa” in the popular Hindi TV serial ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, which ran for a longtime from 2000 to 2008.

Sudha gave a lot to film and TV industry being a person full of acting talent.  For more than 50 years, she remained active in the acting field, giving young actors several opportunities to learn the basics. The talented actor was married to Om Shivpuri, a popular name in Bollywood.

Sudha played pivotal role in ‘Swami’ – a 1977 flick, ‘Pinjar’, ‘Sun Meri Laila’, ‘Burning Train’, ‘Insaaf Ka Tarazu’, ‘Hamari Bahu Alka’, ‘Maya Memsaab’, ‘Sawan Ko Aane Do’ and ‘Vidhaata’. Her acting in ‘Aa Bail Mujhe Maar’, ‘Rajni’, ‘Santoshi Maa’, ‘Yeh Ghar’, ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil’ and ‘Kasamh Se’ made her received words of praise, respect and love from colleagues and fans.

The actress’ health is said to be deteriorating from past few years and early on Wednesday, she left for heavenly abode. The actors who got the chance to work with her are shocked by her sudden demise. Smriti Irani, actress and now Minister of Human Resource Development, Hiten Tejwani and others expressed their shock after knowing that Sudha is no more. The actress will be remembered for generations to come for giving the sheer depth to the offered roles.
