Their mistake turned bigger as soon as South Africa put 301 runs on the score board. David Miller also contributed 56 runs in the aggregate score of his team.

Tour to South Africa did not bring joyous news for Indian viewers who waited to see brilliant performances of Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami.

Ishant showed superb piece of bowling and took 4 wickets in the form of H Davids, Knock, R McLaren and JP Duminy. Besides, Shami fetched 3 wickets, while Umesh Yadav got just a wicket. Although rattling the top order of the hosts, Indian team got a huge target of 302 runs.

The match was abandoned as a consequence of constant rainfall, making South Africa to emerge as the winner of 3-match ODI series by 2-0. Both the teams are now up to have a head to head contest in the upcoming 2-match test series that will start from December 18 to 22 and December 26 to 30 in South Africa.
