December 12 12:05 2013

rup1Mumbai, Thursday, December 12 – At the Interbank Foreign Exchange market, the Indian currency deteriorated by 40 paise to 61.65 in opposition to the US dollar in the early hours trade today as a result of augmented requirement for the US currency from oil importers.

As mentioned by the Forex dealers, augmented capital inflows and a feebler dollar in opposition to further key currencies in a foreign country restricted the losses.

The Indian currency (rupee) had lost 21 paise to end at 61.25 in opposition to the dollar a day ago on urgent requirement from importers for the US currency in view of the fact that local equities slumped.
