Kumar Sangakkara Bids Adieu to Cricket on Emotional Note

kumarNew Delhi, Monday, August 24 – Sri Lanka stopped for a while when Kumar Sangakkara said goodbye to cricket on emotional note a moment ago. The 37-year-old Sangakkara thanked his family, friends, colleagues, Sri Lankan cricket team and former captains under the guidance of whom he played for a long time for their unconditional love and support.

He was given more than a few mementos as honor for 15 golden years in cricket. The left handed batsman thanked Virat Kohli-led team India for being tough contenders and giving Sri Lanka no room to bounce back in the second innings. However, he said the host will look forward to emerge strong in the final Test match, which will take place at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo on August 28.

Sangakkara tried controlling his tears but failed when mentioned his parents as a huge source of inspiration to him. He showed gratitude to all his coaches who mentored him how to be a good in all departments of cricket. Kumar took retirement from ODI in March during 2015 World Cup. The last T20 he played was also against India as like the longest format. India wished one of the finest cricketers very good luck for future.
